Dead pixel versus stuck pixel
What the difference is and which one might recover.
The difference
A dead pixel has no lit sub-pixels and appears black on all backgrounds — it usually can’t be revived. A stuck pixel has one or more sub-pixels stuck on, so it shows a fixed color; these sometimes recover with a color-cycling routine.
